Real talk, I don’t normally (explicitly) talk about my politics on my socials unless I need to make a mandatory statement. That’s not the case with my books. I’m politically progressive from the United States and was raised liberal, and I write from that perspective whether I want to or not (I’m sure you couldn’t have possibly guessed that from the fact that I always acknowledge that there’s more than two genders in these kinds of posts). Even the most apolitical art is political, and if I’m not explicitly writing leftish-leaning politics and characters in a positive light (which I totally do, free speech, and all that), my personal politics will bleed in to my work unless I’m expressly trying to stop it from happening–that also includes my individual non-conforming political views.
